Description

The Commercial Finance team is very passionate about driving the performance of the business forward. We partner across all areas within Newday including Commercial, Credit Risk, Treasury and Business Development and have continuous dialogue with them. As a team we link all these elements into a coherent story and plan, which the Business is held to. We drive the Newday performance through a series of weekly and monthly forecasts as well as the annual budgeting exercise.

WE NEED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE + EXPERTISE IN:

  • Professional accounting qualification or desire to work towards one
  • Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills (including basic macros/VBA)
  • Effective communication and presentation skills

AND WOULD LOVE YOU TO KNOW OR LEARN:

  • Experience in a data analysis/FP&A role
  • Retail banking/financial services company experience would be helpful
  • Experience of Anaplan or similar planning system

Responsibilities
  • Creating and presenting comprehensive and robust 5-year forecast budget packs to senior management twice a year.
  • Creating monthly Outlooks to continually reassess business performance against plan.
  • Creating the weekly finance updates (intramonth) ensuring we have early line of sight on emerging monthly issues.
  • Delivering and presenting complex financial information in a concise, non-technical manner to an executive audience.
  • Support the Stress Testing process from modelling through to delivery to Board twice a year.
  • Continuously looking to improve the forecast processes.
  • Support development of cash flow modelling and insight.
    Our team is often the first in the wider Finance team to understand emerging issues/trends. Help disseminate this knowledge and ensure that the way we are showing things will not cause problems for our Reporting teams.
