Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE POST:

The Specialist – Cyber Threat Intelligence plays a key role within the Information Security Team, contributing to the overall security and resilience of Europol’s Communication and Information Systems. The primary focus of this role is to lead cyber threat intelligence services by collecting, analysing, and disseminating actionable intelligence on current and emerging cyber threats. This intelligence supports proactive risk management, strengthens Europol’s cybersecurity posture, and enables informed decision-making at all levels.

FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

The incumbent carries out the following main functions and duties:

  • Collect and analyse threat data regarding current and emerging cyber threats;
  • Produce detailed reports and briefings on the evolving threat landscape, providing actionable insights to strengthen the security strategies of the organisation;
  • Cooperate with internal and external stakeholders and partners to exchange intelligence and enhance threat awareness, and coordinate responses to cyber threats;
  • Deliver presentations to a diverse range of stakeholders to effectively communicate identified threats and recommendations;
  • Contribute to the development, refinement and implementation of tools and methodologies for identifying and mitigating cyber threats;
  • Conduct expert analysis of cyber threat intelligence to support the Information Security Team in identifying, assessing, and mitigating cyber security incidents;
  • Perform any other duties in the area of competence as assigned by the line management.
