Our hospital is a dynamic environment where teamwork and compassion are at the forefront of everything we do.    WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:   As a member of the Health Information Team, the Data Quality Specialist provides support to the Health Information Management (HIM) coders to produce accurate and timely data on Inpatient, Day Surgery, Oncology, and Emergency charts for the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI), Ministry of Health and Long term Care (MoHLTC), Stats Canada, Integrated Decision Support (IDS), hospital administration and departments.  This position works to ensure the quality of information compiled for the purpose of benchmarking and performance of hospital comparisons is both consistent and accurate. This data is utilized and relied upon by several different areas within our hospital and external stakeholders and is critical to the delivery of quality healthcare and hospital funding. This position is responsible for training, performing random chart audits and preparing and generating Solventum (previously known as 3M) reports while ensuring all coding standards and new directives are adhered to by all coders. This position will help develop Clinical Documentation Improvement processes for educating physicians on better documentation for both patient care, reporting and funding purposes. WHAT YOU MUST HAVE: * Post-Secondary diploma/degree in Health Information Management or a relevant /related field preferred * Certified Health Information Management (CHIM) professional  * Minimum 5 years of coding, auditing and submission experience * Strong coding knowledge of both DAD and NACRS * Knowledge and expertise of the Coding Standards, CIHI submission requirements, IDS (Integration Decision Support) tool, and Solventum (3M) * Comfortable reviewing audited charts with Coders, Physicians and Nurse Educators.
