ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT

Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE POST:

The Specialist – Deployment Management and Support will support Member States (MS) investigations and operations, providing a high level of expertise, proposing initiatives and delivering timely, relevant products and services to Europol stakeholders, mostly in the field of deployments for secondary security checks to migration hotspots and areas of interest.

FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

The incumbent carries out the following main functions and duties:

  • Provide operational assistance, mostly related to the facilitation of secondary security checks in MS and some third states, in accordance with their respective mandates within the context of the management of the external borders of the EU;
  • Engage with the European Commission, EU Council, Frontex (EBCGA), EUAA, national authorities and other external stakeholders in order to create awareness of Europol’s specific tasks related to secondary security checks
  • Initiate, monitor and coordinate internal processes to ensure that the organisation provides appropriate support in the respective areas of operation.
  • Undertake regular reporting to management on developments in relevant operational areas;
  • Monitor, process, handle and report on data stemming from GO deployment and associated activities;
  • Monitor and assess Open-Source information by using various tools and applications;
  • Participate in meetings and represent the O1-14 DMT in operations and during visits as and when required;

FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of policies and procedures relevant to the duties;
  • Coordinate and guide the work of the Guest Officers assigned to various deployment areas in the field as necessary;
  • Perform any other duties in the area of competence as assigned by the line manager.
