SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Stratos program, building a modern airline retail technology platform. In this role, you will be working as a member of the enablement team building the platform-as-a-product to empower the value stream engineering teams to deliver high-quality software efficiently. The enablement team is responsible for building, deployment, and automation of the platform, and capabilities within the platform. You will be working in microservices architecture automating builds and deployments at scale with agility, while collaborating closely with team members to ensure a reliable, secure, efficient, and scalable process. You will partner closely with the architecture team on technical strategy and empower value stream teams with self-service tools and automation. Your experience in DevOps, SecOps, ITOps, or FinOps is vital to expand the diverse skillsets of our platform engineering team. IN THIS ROLE YOU’LL:

• Build and enhance an internal developer platform (IDP) with a product mindset, treating value stream engineering teams as customers by delivering self-service tools that reduce friction and boost productivity.
• Build a deep understanding of the current state of our building and deployment processes and pipelines.
• Design, build, and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes for the Stratos program, helping create our future automation architecture.
• Ensure the reliability and scalability of our systems through proactive monitoring and performance optimization.
• Support platform and value stream capability deployments in different environments using GitOps with ArgoCD and troubleshoot issues and implement fixes.
• Manage products like Apache Kafka to support event-driven architectures, ensuring reliable data flow across microservices.
• Partner with architecture teams to shape platform standards and best practices for scalability, security, and performance.
• Work with the cybersecurity team to ensure that our systems are secure and compliant with industry standards and regulations.
• Engage with value stream engineering teams and product managers to understand their needs, providing automation and tools that accelerate their workflows and align with business and technical needs.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and standards.
• Stay ahead of emerging trends and technologies to continuously improve our platform engineering practices.
• Mentor and train other members of the team in platform engineering and DevOps best practices.
