KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate in Engineering discipline with typically twelve years practical experience or equivalent recognised experience.
  • Experience in applying tools, techniques and the use of specialised equipment.
  • A thorough understanding of general theories and applications covering a broad knowledge of Design Engineering is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Company Procedures and standards relating to engineering, design, health & safety and environment.
  • Proficient in relevant IT applications and software packages.
Responsibilities

ROLE PURPOSE

To act as the discipline expert for Design for a particular work package or process.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and approves the work of design team members and contractors to fulfil customer expectations.
  • Identifies Design methods and techniques to be utilised for particular work packages.
  • Defines Design requirements to be met for particular work packages.
  • Defines specific Design skillset training required for a particular work package.
  • Assesses potential Design tools and methods which could be utilised for the Business Unit and makes recommendations to senior management.
  • Acts as coach/mentor to junior Design staff.
  • Supports Chief Design Engineer in preparation for gate reviews
