We’re looking for a Specialist Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Yarwun Alumina Refinery. In this senior role, you’ll provide expert engineering support and asset management oversight for the Digestion Area, working with critical equipment such as mills, high-pressure digesters, pumps, and piping systems.
This is a site-based role with an office on-site. While flexible work arrangements (e.g. partial working from home, adjusted hours) are available, you must be based in Gladstone and able to attend site as required.

Reporting to the Superintendent Mechanical Engineer and working in a challenging and exciting environment within the Engineering Mechanical team, you will be:

• Provide expert mechanical engineering support to the Digestion Area, including pressure equipment, pumps, and piping systems.
• Work directly with Operational and Maintenance Teams to solve problems on a continual basis.
• Lead and manage Risk Based Inspection programs, fitness-for-service assessments, and outsourced technical work.
• Conduct root cause analysis and contribute to continuous improvement in asset management systems and processes.
• Mentor and support other engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
• Apply whole-of-life asset lifecycle principles to ensure long-term plant health and reliability.
• Stay informed of industry developments and integrate best practices into engineering solutions.
• Collaborate across diverse teams to deliver practical, sustainable engineering outcomes.
