SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong client-facing and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and deliver consistent results independently.
  • Proven experience in application support, including troubleshooting, diagnostics, and issue resolution.
  • Skilled in gathering and documenting business/system requirements, with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Technical knowledge across system integration (Microsoft/Boomi), APIs, Power Platform, UI Path, and data modelling.
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools like ServiceNow and relevant industry certifications (e.g. MCSA, MCSE).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT support, with a tertiary qualification in IT or Business and an interest in growing within the application space.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Applications Support Specialist is responsible for managing and supporting enterprise software applications across multiple business units, including Sustainability, HSE, Legal, Risk, and Corporate Affairs.
This role involves resolving technical issues, managing system configurations, access controls, vendor relationships, and software lifecycle processes. It also supports user acceptance testing and collaborates with business units to deliver meaningful data insights using tools like Power BI or Tableau.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide application support by investigating and resolving issues in line with Origin’s ITIL processes (incident, request, problem, change).
  • Assist with gathering, documenting, and validating business requirements and support user acceptance testing activities.
  • Analyse and assess operational impacts of small system changes and support stakeholder engagement during implementation.
  • Manage administrative tasks including workflow maintenance, master data updates, and system records management.
  • Perform system administration for various SaaS applications, including user setup, role assignment, environment deployments, and data integrations.
  • Maintain up-to-date system documentation and contribute to reporting improvements and solution enhancements.
  • Engage in forums and collaboration with IT and business stakeholders to support continuous improvement initiatives.
