JOB DESCRIPTION

Drive smarter cloud solutions and cost efficiency at scale. Viva Energy Australia is seeking a Senior FinOps & Cloud Engineer to lead the design and delivery of cost-effective Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), Terraform, and cloud-native services. This is a hands-on technical role with strategic influence optimising cloud spend, enabling automation, and shaping infrastructure that supports critical national operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years in cloud engineering with deep Azure expertise
• Strong background in infrastructure automation, DevOps, and CI/CD
• Proven experience with FinOps tools and cloud cost optimization strategies
• Skilled in Terraform, Git, scripting (Python, PowerShell), and cloud-native services
• Experience in hybrid cloud environments and multi-site enterprise infrastructure
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Retail experience is a plus

• Design and implement scalable, secure Azure infrastructure using IaC and Terraform
• Monitor and optimize cloud usage and costs with FinOps best practices
• Leverage Azure-native services (AKS, Functions, Logic Apps, etc.) to enhance performance
• Automate deployments and integrate with CI/CD pipelines
• Ensure compliance, security, and governance across cloud environments
• Build dashboards and reports to track cloud spend and forecast budgets
• Collaborate across teams to align infrastructure with business and financial goals
