Description SUMMARY Responsible for orchestrating production activities, overseeing maintenance tasks, and spearheading ongoing improvement endeavors in our aluminum can manufacturing facility. Covering areas such as Uncoiler, Cupper, and Bodymakers, your responsibility will be to ensure the seamless functioning of production machinery while upholding paramount safety and quality measures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Production Monitoring: Monitor production activities and machine operations, adjusting as necessary to maintain efficiency and quality standards. Communication: Provide updates on work progress, quality, and production information to Senior Specialists and team members. Workflow Coordination: Coordinate with team members, specialists, technicians, and material handlers to ensure a seamless workflow and efficient production cycles. Cupper and Body Maker Operations: Oversee the operation and coordination of Cupper and Body Maker machines to produce aluminum can components. Production Planning: Collaborate with production planners to schedule machine setups, production runs, and changeovers based on production requirements and customer orders. Quality Control: Monitor production output, inspect can components for defects, and ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications. Machine Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines according to TPM schedules, conducting tests and inspections to evaluate performance. Machine Setup and Optimization: Set up machines, including calibration and cleaning, to initiate production cycles. Control and adjust machine settings to optimize performance. Troubleshooting: Observe machine operations to detect malfunctions, low supplies, or misaligned parts. Troubleshoot issues that may arise during the shift and address any machine-related defects or flaws. Material Handling: Manage material supply, including aluminum coils, sheets, and other raw materials required for Cupper and Body Maker operations. Production Efficiency: Optimize machine settings, adjust parameters, and implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency and reduce waste. Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety protocols, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to safety guidelines during machine operation and maintenance. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production activities, machine settings, quality checks, maintenance tasks, and production metrics. Generate reports on production output, efficiency, and quality performance. Leadership and Training: Provide leadership and direction to operators on equipment operation, maintenance, and housekeeping tasks. Assist in creating SOPs, conducting internal audits, and training operators. Collaboration and Adaptability: Collaborate with all stakeholders to acquire expertise in operating equipment and enhancing performance capabilities. Remain adaptable with your schedule to accommodate production requirements. Food Safety Responsible and required to notify management about actual or potential food safety issues; and empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work. Computer Skills: Must have basic knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience operating machines or similar equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.
