Overview Scope of Position: Promotes the health, wellness, and safety of campers and staff. Works under the supervision of the Healthcare Manager to recruit, hire, and supervise seasonal Healthcare Team members for WinShape Camps. Assists Healthcare Manager in other duties as assigned. Reports to: Manager, Healthcare – WinShape Camps Responsibilities Team Supervision & Training Partners with Healthcare Manager in hiring and training the Healthcare Team for all overnight camps, including but not limited to Healthcare Team Leads and Assistants, Anchor Nurses and Aides, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Paramedics, EMTs, Nurse’s Aides, Chart Reviewers, and Triage Nurses. Helps supervise the Healthcare Team during camp season. Delivers healthcare and first aid training sessions for Healthcare Team and Summer Staff during Staff Training, in coordination with the Healthcare Manager. Contributes to reviewing and updating Healthcare Team staff manuals and training materials each year. Healthcare Operations & Policies Plays a role in evaluating and revising the healthcare standards, policies, and procedures for WinShape Camps. Manages ordering medical supplies and equipment prior to the summer for each camp location. Monitors supply needs throughout the summer and ordering additional as needed. Supports the Healthcare Manager in managing healthcare expenses. Carries out other duties as needed to ensure camp healthcare operations run smoothly. Camper & Staff Care Coordination Coordinates review of completed health forms for incoming Summer Staff members and overnight campers with the medical chart review team prior to arrival at camp. Communicates with camper parents/guardians as needed prior to camp regarding specific health concerns, questions, and/or accommodations. Notifies Healthcare Manager of any potential health issues that may impact a staffer’s or camper’s experience. Coordinates care and arrange follow-up appointments for Worker’s Compensation cases as needed. Organizes pertinent camper health information to be shared with Camp Leaders as needed. Travel & Communication Travels to camp locations for site visits on a regular basis during the summer. Communicates with Healthcare Manager regularly regarding any medical or staffing issues. Ability to travel to various camp locations and other WinShape events throughout the year as needed. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) preferred, or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with minimum of 3 years’ experience with current state license. Current BCLS or ACLS certification. Demonstrated experience in camp nursing, preferably with WinShape Camps. Experience in both pediatric and adult care preferred. Must hold or obtain a valid driver’s license for the state in which they are hired and have an acceptable driving record. Ability to travel to various camp locations and other WinShape events throughout the year as needed. Skill Sets Demonstrated expertise in First Aid and emergency management. Organizational skills with attention to detail. Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills. A self-professing Christ follower, actively involved in a Christian faith community and actively pursuing Christ on a consistent basis.
