Job Details Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $88,000.00 - $99,000.00 Salary As the successful candidate, you will – As the successful candidate, the HSE Specialist will support the implementation and maintenance of the Company’s Safety and Quality Management System (SQMS) across multiple locations. This role helps ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations, while promoting a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and environmental responsibility. The HSE Specialist will conduct audits, support training efforts, analyze safety data, and collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to drive safety excellence throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities – Safety & Compliance Support Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Safety and Quality Management System (SQMS) in alignment with internal standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., FAA, OSHA, EPA, NFPA, IS-BAH, ATA 103, IATA) Assist in promoting proactive and preventative safety practices across all operations. Monitor compliance with safety policies, procedures, and environmental requirements. Participate in developing standardized policies and procedures and managing company document control. Audits, Inspections & Site Engagement Participate in the Internal Audit Program (IAP), including data review, audit findings, and corrective action tracking. Conduct scheduled and unscheduled health, safety, and environmental audits Travel routinely (roughly 50%) to company locations to conduct inspections, training, audits, and incident investigations Identify compliance gaps and assist in developing corrective actions, with local and senior management Incident Management & Emergency Response Support incident investigations, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions Assist with the emergency response coordination and incident recovery activities as directed Training & Awareness Assist with the delivery, coordination, and tracking of safety and environmental training programs Monitor training completion and support evaluation of training effectiveness Data Analysis & Reporting Collect, analyze, and track safety performance metrics, audit data, and incident data Assist in preparing safety reports and summaries for management review. Maintain accurate documentation of audits, inspections, safety procedures, and regulatory activities Collaboration & Communication Work closely with local management, frontline teams, and vendors to support safety initiatives Support interactions with regulatory agencies during audits and inspections as needed Share best practices and lessons learned across locations to support continuous improvement Other Perform additional duties as assigned to support Modern Aviation’s evolving business objectives Qualifications Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications – Bachelor’s degree in environmental health, safety management, occupational safety, or related field -OR- equivalent experience in place of a degree Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in safety, environmental health, or aviation roles A valid driver’s license is required Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Outlook, Word, Excel, Sheets, etc.) Proven ability to prioritize, manage time, and handle confidential information professionally Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and industry standards Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail Working Conditions and Physical Demands – Occasionally ascend/descend a ladder Must regularly stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Ability to observe details at a close range Availability to travel 50% of the time across the network Note: The statements above are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to the job. Assessment Modern Aviation’s Pay Range – $80,000 - $90,000 base + bonus + benefits.
