The preferred candidate would be located in Columbus, OH or Des Moines, IA for this hybrid role. The position could be open to remote depending on location. This role will be responsible for managing the Workday system configuration for talent, performance, skills, onboarding and reporting. Position requires strong technical skills, consultation skills and experience with system configuration. As a Specialist, you’ll provide consultation and ongoing design, deployment, and maintenance of Workday, our human capital management system. We’ll count on you to consult and administer functional area solutions, including configuration, testing, prioritization, analysis and problem resolution, while building and sustaining strategic partnerships.

TYPICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

Education: Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in human resources, business administration, insurance or technology.
License/Certification/Designation: Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
Experience: Five or more years of demonstrated experience in a human resources function, business analysis, technology, process design, and/or operations. Three to five years of related experience in core functions of human resources with a demonstrated understanding of HRIS, preferably in Workday, and other system components (i.e. configuration, testing, defect and release management).
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Knowledge of HRIS, preferably Workday, and other Human Resources technology. Business consulting and relationship management skills. Skilled in business consulting, business process analysis and design, performance improvement, problem solving, planning, coordinating and organizing. Project management skills and experience working with senior leaders is preferred. Proven data and analytics, reporting and problem resolution skills. Knowledge of HR business processes and associate data management, including data security protocols. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience with system configuration, testing, integrations and report management, as well as release management and defect/problem resolution.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Responsibilities
  • Leads and coordinates moderate to complex activities in configuration, testing and validation of HRIS to ensure the quality, integrity and performance needs of the business are achieved.
  • Configures key components including but not limited to payroll, benefits, absence, compensation, talent management, talent acquisition, self-service, mobile, security and integrations. Identifies issues and performs analysis to resolve. Develops and/or coordinates appropriate changes, requests, processes, testing and scheduled releases.
  • Understands, collaborates and consults with the business, technology organization and external vendors to ensure configured processes are aligned and that the system operates as one integrated system supporting business strategies and processes.
  • Works with business, technology organization and project team members to evaluate and identify business needs, process improvements and requirements. Evaluates, analyzes, designs, implements and improves business processes.
  • Maintains Configuration Workbook and develops appropriate documentation to support the modifications and development and ensures human resources business processes are documented within application.
  • Provides input as appropriate and partners closely with partners for learning, sharing standard methodologies and issue resolution.
  • May lead scheduled and ad hoc meetings and training to improve policy and process acuity.
    May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
    Reporting Relationships: Reports to the Director, Human Resources Technology Consulting. This is an individual contributor role.
