Closing Date: Tuesday, April 14th, 2026, at 9:00 PM (PST) OR When 100 Applications Are Received Position: Specialist I Department: Administrative Services – AVAQMD Annual Salary: $70,304.00 - $89,727.82 Exempt - Not Eligible for Overtime   General Summary:  Under general supervision, performs a variety of responsible technical, administrative and paraprofessional duties in support of the department operation or assigned project.   SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: * None Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Provide front-desk support including greeting visitors, answering phones, assisting walk-in customers, and directing inquiries to appropriate staff. * Provide administrative and technical support to department leadership, including conducting research, preparing summaries, and following up on assigned projects. * Perform general administrative duties such as preparing correspondence, reports, and maintaining organized digital and physical records. * Archive and maintain department data, files, and records in accordance with AVAQMD policy. * Support customer service functions by responding to questions, assisting with forms, and providing information on department programs and processes. * Maintain and update departmental databases; run data queries and generate routine reports. * Coordinate logistics for meetings, workshops, and department activities, including scheduling and preparing materials. * Assist with accounting-related tasks such as data entry, banking activities, and bank reconciliations. * Prepare materials for publications, website updates, and public information efforts. * Conduct basic research, record searches, and compile data for reports or statistical summaries. * Maintain a clean and welcoming reception and lobby area. * Assist with Clerk of the Board and Form 700 Filing Officer duties. * Perform related duties as assigned to support the overall goals and objectives of the department.
