Your future starts here.   PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The position provides oversight and management of inventory control for CPKC materials for Engineering, Signals & Communications, Mechanical Car and Locomotive departments across a defined territory. You will also assist in the management of a regional material distribution center operation outlined by the manager.   POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES: Coordinate and support CPKC’s inventory control objectives, ensuring inventoried materials are properly transacted (right material at the right place and at the right time) and are counted per our Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) controls Create a safe workplace by executing a Safety Management system Execute inventory control processes for a defined region or material scope, including executing counts and posting counts for all material types Coordinate inventory count plans to ensure inventory controls are met   Act as the business point of contact for material concerns for the portfolio defined for this role Support capital inventory for S&C, Engineering, Mechanical Car, Loco and Procurement to execute planning, transferring and delivery of material Optimize CPKC Inventory materials while providing oversight on material management best practices Assist in Management of Southern District Distribution Center   POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Post-Secondary Education, preferably a university degree in business, finance, engineering or a related field Minimum 3 years’ experience managing inventory, warehousing, and distribution of materials Valid driver's license Experience working in a warehouse Strong excel skills and analytical capabilities Systems’ aptitude and experience with SAP is preferred but training will also be provided   WHAT CPKC HAS TO OFFER: Flexible and competitive benefits package Competitive company pension and/or retirement plans Employee share purchase plan Performance incentive plan Annual fitness subsidy Part-time studies program   PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:   Drug Testing This position is subject to a negative company drug test.   Background Investigation Criminal history check Education verification Professional references Driver’s license verification and driving history Department of Transportation Background Check 40.25 Form Social Security Number verification   BECOMING A RAILROADER: As an employee with a North American presence, the possibility does exist that the location of your position may be changed based on organizational requirements.   Management Conductor Program Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC.
