EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, TRAINING, OR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience uses of an WMS inventory system - preferred
  • Basic knowledge of inventory models, basic math and counting, basic computer skills including emailing and excel, forklift driving, strong attention to detail - required
  • Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills. Able to manage concerns of internal and external customers in a professional manner required - required
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in warehouse operations, inventory, healthcare or related field - required
Responsibilities

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Specialist, Inventory Control is responsible for the accuracy of inventory stocking levels of the Distribution Center. Daily operations will include but are not limited to conducting cycle count inventory processes, re-stocking of various product from the warehouse to the floor, updating warehouse management software for accurate tracking and maintaining adequate levels of inventory for the laboratory to operate effectively.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains inventory levels for laboratory

  • Continuous replenishment of the laboratory reagents, controls and supplies supporting day shift and evening shift
  • Conducts daily cycle counts and maintains strict inventory records in warehouse management systems
  • Safely and accurately scan and item pull correct inventory totals, verify lots, expiration dates and complete transactions via inventory equipment
  • Investigates problems and escalates to supervisor of potential shortages or discrepancies
  • Collaborates with clinical lab teammates on proper procedures for locating and utilizing product inventory
  • Conducts month-end inventory and reconciliation for all sectors of the clinical lab
  • Works with finance on on-going and month end inventory processes including inventory counts, coding and performance reports
  • Follows all standard operating procedures

Implements Inventory Control Best Practices

  • Oversees and evaluates stock rotation procedures
  • Track and log numbers and expirations of dated material to prevent loss
  • Creates and maintains an efficient space utilization plan
  • Collaborates with clinical lab teammates to understand lab requirements and refine processes and stocking procedures as needed

Ability to perform all Material Handler I, Material Handler II duties independently
Acts as a subject matter expert in the development and compliance of departmental policies and procedures.

Perform other related duties as required

  • Must be comfortable working 1st and 2nd shifts, Saturdays, and potentially Sundays.
