We are seeking a Specialist Learning Support Teacher for our welcoming Northam Campus on a full time, permanent basis, commencing in Term 1, 2027.


The Learning Support Specialist Teacher plays a pivotal role in supporting students with complex learning, behavioural, social, and emotional needs to access the curriculum and participate successfully in the classroom environment. This position includes a full teaching load, its primary focus is on working directly with students, teachers, and families to develop and implement appropriate adjustments, interventions, and support strategies that promote engagement, inclusion, independence, and educational progress. The role also collaborates closely with classroom teachers to facilitate successful integration into learning environments and ensure students can meaningfully participate in all aspects of school life.


The successful applicant will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and allied health professionals to ensure students can access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals. They will lead the development of inclusive practices, support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and help foster a whole-school approach to supporting diverse learners.

About You

All applicants will need an excellent understanding of the Australian Curriculum and Syllabus, be a registered teacher within Western Australia and have relevant teaching and tertiary qualifications.

  • Experience working with students who have identified and diagnosed high-need autism, and/or experience developing and delivering Life Skills programs, will be highly desirable.
