POSITION TITLE: Specialist, Marketing, Creative & Communications
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
POSITION STATUS: Full-Time Permanent
START DATE: Immediately

SALARY: $45,000-$55,000

The Specialist, Marketing, Creative & Communications will be responsible for managing We Care’s marketing and communication initiatives while ensuring the organization’s branding is properly executed across all marketing platforms. Their work will also include the management of We Care’s online and social media presence and the design and production of event and marketing materials. We are looking for the right candidate who will fit into our small ‘We Care family’.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant post-secondary education in marketing, fundraising, communications, and/or equivalent experience
  • Superior writing skills in editorial and copy writing, with a proven ability to write in different styles for a variety of audiences; and demonstrates strong proof reading and editing skills.
  • An eye for design and a proficiency in the creation of marketing materials
  • An up-to-date knowledge on the latest social media trends and techniques
  • Proven ability to develop and execute effective communication strategies
  • Excellent written, oral, and communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational, time management, and attention to detail skills
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances, with on-the-fly and solutions-driven thinking
  • Results-oriented and a creative thinker
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in stressful situations
  • Proven ability to work both independently and co-operatively on a small team
  • Ability to handle event fundraising/sales technology
  • Tech-savvy, with an ability to learn new web/computer/mobile applications
  • Ability to juggle simultaneous projects with conflicting timelines; while focusing on project management
  • A flair for photography
  • Proficiency in the following programs/applications:
  • o Adobe Creative Suites (InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, etc.)
  • o Social Media Platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • o Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • o Word Press and/or HTML
  • o Google (Gmail, Drive, Forms, Sheets, etc.)
  • Knowledge in the following areas considered an asset:
  • o Payment systems (e.g. Square)
  • o Online event registration systems
  • o Oral and written French language

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-4 years experience in corporate communications, social media, and media relations.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and the use of an appropriately insured reliable vehicle (vehicle may be used for picking up and dropping off event materials)
  • Periodic evening and weekend work, as required
  • Physical effort and stamina required for lifting, loading/unloading vehicles, and event set up
  • Some overnight, out-of-town/province travel

    Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
