You will be joining an experienced and collaborative team that can support your appetite for continuous improvement, regardless of where you are in your career journey.  Responsibilities: * Full-cycle development of battery and charger products from concept to production.  * Design, develop, analyze, and test new and existing battery and charger products, typically high-energy-dense battery solutions for rugged terrain.  * Support Electrical Engineers with Battery Management System (BMS) designs; provide feedback on proposals with basic battery concepts, working towards requirement analyses and compliance matrixes.  *  Work shoulder-to-shoulder with customers to understand key requirements and derive critical features into your design approach; this may involve presenting your work products to customers in weekly status meetings or formal design reviews.   * Develop a testing approach in collaboration with the customer; create detailed test procedures and other supporting documentation; shepherd customers through the customer review process. You will be physically performing battery testing in a lab or outside test facility.  * Perform failure and root cause analyses.  * Support multiple programs simultaneously. Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar discipline with 5 years of experience.  * SolidWorks 3D CAD with the strong ability to visualize and design in 3D. Drafting proficiency with knowledge of ASME Y14.5 (strongly preferred; other 3D CAD design software such as PTC Creo may be considered as an equivalent depending on other relevant experience).  * Experience in FEA simulation encompassing thermal, shock, and vibration.  * Proven ability to design, tests and experiments – support testing of the design.  * Strong technical writing skills. • Experience in electronic circuit design (a plus).  * Proficient with MS Office Suite (Email, Word, Excel).  * This role requires the ability to obtain a future Security Clearance is required for the role. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance Preferred Qualifications:  *  At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in advanced battery pack design using cylindrical or pouch cells; this includes strong knowledge of battery cell attachment methods, power electronics packaging, and buss bar design and an understanding of battery BMS fundamentals. Similar experience in electronic enclosure packaging by understanding the wiring diagram and schematics will also be considered.  *  An understanding of how to design for safety in mechanical battery packs.  * Performing requirements analysis/compliance matrix – capture and execute customer’s requirements to completion.   In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $87,000 - $161,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
