Entity: Aga Khan University Hospital Location: Karachi Job Role / Responsibilities: While reporting to the Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for providing guidance and assistance to the health care teams in maintaining optimum processes of nursing care. Specific responsibilities include to : teach activities related to clinical care, staff development, and providing assistance in patient care management on a daily-basis collaborate with nursing staff and clinicians in providing learning opportunities to the nursing staff conduct clinical reviews to ensure optimum quality of care and liaise with nursing regulatory departments for meeting the requirements identify and develop nursing management staff to assume future leadership roles and responsibilities formulate courses pertaining to Medicine specialty to facilitate staff development and competence assist in setting annual goals and objectives related to staff development of assigned areas and design strategies for nurturing of first line Nurse Instructors in units participate in establishing standards of care with unit staff and monitor delivery of care according to the set standards such as patient safety, quality of care, health care associated infections, policies, procedures, protocols, and patient centered care · monitor nursing staff skills to identify gaps in theory and its integration into practice · monitor clinical indicators and develop relevant strategy for actions leading to desired improvement · liaise with the concerned departments for planning concerted staff learning and development activities · review and update clinical care processes of assigned areas. Requirements: a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BScN) from an accredited school while having MScN degree or equivalent will be preferred at least six years of nursing-related experience, of which at least two years of experience should be of clinical teaching at a tertiary care healthcare organization · valid license from Pakistan Nursing Council along with valid certification in BLS Instructor/Provider, ACLS or PALS Provider/Instructor, Safe Medication Administration, Intravenous Cannulation and Conscious Sedation · in-depth exposure to teaching/learning, developing educational plans, conducting independent courses as well as implementation of in-service sessions and the certifications mentioned above · excellent interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills and ability to lead people skills willingness to work on shifts and extended hours on need-basis.
