An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist to work within the AHP Medical Team at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The AHP team provides assessment and treatment of adults with a wide range of medical conditions within acute medical wards. The team has a skill mix of experienced Specialist Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapists, Rotational Staff, an Assistant Practitioner and HealthCare Support workers offering a broad range of competencies, knowledge and Clinical Experience. This post is part time at 0.57 whole time equivalent (WTE) of 37 hours per week. A car driver is essential to this role.
The individual will be responsible for the management and prioritisation of a complex and varied caseload, from initial assessment to discharge. It will also be expected for the post holder to make onward referrals to relevant community services at hospital discharged. Experience with supervision and teaching would be desirable as this is a large part of the role for both HCSW, rotational staff and students within the team. Service development and continuous change is a key part of our team, previous experience and a passion for this is essential for this role. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and enjoys being part of an enthusiastic and hardworking team.
