Specialist Occupational Therapist (band 6) HMP Edinburgh
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the occupational therapy team within HMP Edinburgh. Working with prisoners who have mental health problems the successful candidate will be enthusiastic and motivated with skills in clinical decision-making, risk management, and prioritisation of needs. In addition, Occupational Therapy leadership is embedded in the team, providing ongoing profession-specific support to enable you to deliver a high-quality and person-centred occupational therapy service.
The successful candidate will have close links with occupational therapists working in prisons in Scotland, and within a range of specialities and mental health teams and services in Lothian.
Leadership and innovation and an interest in practice development are key skills. The successful candidate will also be able to work alone and as part of a multi-professional team.
Professional supervision, training and development are integral to the service.
