Hedleys College is a high-quality specialist further education and training provider. We provide education and training for young people aged 16-25 with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities who require specialist individual programmes to develop their communication, independence, and employability skills. We help our learner make successful transitions into adulthood within the Northeast region.
About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, experienced Occupational Therapist looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young adults with learning and physical disabilities. You will join our multidisciplinary therapy team and work closely with education staff, families, and external healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic and person-centred approach to student care.
Key Responsibilities

AS A PHASE 2 OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST, YOU WILL:

Deliver high-quality, student-focused occupational therapy assessments and interventions.
Support students with a range of physical, sensory, and learning needs.
Promote engagement in education and daily living activities.
Develop individualised therapy programmes and contribute to EHCP reviews.
Collaborate with teaching and support staff to embed therapeutic strategies into everyday routines.
Supervise and mentor others within the team.
About You
HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist
Experience working with young people with learning and physical disabilities, autism, and/or behaviours that challenge
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A creative, student-led approach to therapy
Passion for supporting young adults to live more independent and fulfilling lives
