Specialist Operations - Marine Residential role – You will live in Weipa, a beautiful coastal community in Far North QLD Monday – Friday | 9 Day Fortnight Roster Full domestic relocation available from within Australia Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs. About the role We are looking for a Specialist Operations - Marine who will be responsible Amrun and Weipa port operations and providing subject matter expertise for the daily execution tug and pilot boat operations. The incumbent in this position is not only accountable for the efficient and safe movement of vessels in and out of our ports, but also the contractor management, financial and strategic objectives for Marine Weipa. Reporting to the Manager Assets and Operational Services: Manage various contractors Working to existing policy and manage compliance with Rio Tinto standards and expectations. Effectively manage relationships with stakeholders internal and external. Be the formal Port of Amrun Authority Balance risk, safety and production in decision making to ensure the best outcome for our business and community. About you To be successfully considered for this role, you will have: Degree/Diploma in Marine or related. 3 to 5 years’ experience in marine based role particularly relating to pilot or tug boat operations. Strong communications skills. Sound negotiation skills. Located on the Western Cape York Peninsula in Far North Queensland, each year the operation produces more than 35 million tons of bauxite. Our operations are supported by a 1,900-strong workforce—including 26 per cent who are women and 25 per cent Indigenous employees. Activities include mine operations, maintenance, asset management, ports, cultural heritage management, and processing facility management.
