In this role you would be mainly working in the Pharmacy Medicines Research Unit and acting as a link to the aseptic unit. As part of the team, you will take part in study setup. You will ensure trial medication is handled as part of the Clinical Trial Regulations. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining trial documentation. The role will give you the opportunity to demonstrate your skills in accuracy, attention to detail, teamwork, project and time management.
We are a friendly, experienced, supportive team, who want to promote research and open studies which will provide new treatments and medication for patients. You will be working with multi-disciplinary teams to bring research to patients.
Clinical trial experience is not essential for this role, but aseptic experience is essential.
Applicants are required to be a GPhC registered pharmacy technician with considerable hospital experience.
Work with the Senior Pharmacy Technician Clinical Trials and the Aseptic Quality Assurance Team to operationally manage the provision of all aseptically dispensed clinical trials. Meeting the objectives and PDP set for this post by the Senior Pharmacy Technician Clinical Trials and deputise for the Senior Pharmacy Technician Clinical Trials when required.
Manage the accurate management of all records related to aseptic clinical trials.
To review and formally assess the feasibility of potential clinical trials with respect to any pharmaceutical/technical issues within aseptic services and across the department. Share this assessment with, and provide support and advice to, the Clinical Trials Team UHCW Pharmacy.
Responsible for and provide patients with their medication safely and efficiently by dispensing/manufacturing and supplying from the pharmacy dispensaries, stores, aseptic laboratory and at ward level.

Act as the UHCW pharmacy department pharmaceutical link with any trials related agencies involved with clinical trials and in particular aseptic clinical trials.
Ensure all dispensed clinical trials drugs comply with UK legislation, EU directives,
MHRA regulations, national & local guidelines and practices.
Ensure patients receive their therapy in a safe and timely manner.
