Description

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapist to join our small enthusiastic and specialist team based in Murray Royal Hospital, Perth. Applicants should have relevant experience working as a Physiotherapist within physical rehabilitation services, possess excellent communication and decision-making skills and have a positive approach to promoting both physical and mental health and wellbeing.
We provide specialist physiotherapy to older adults (65+) with both functional or organic diseases such as dementia, as well as younger adults who are experiencing mild to moderate mental illness including anxiety and depression, chronic pain and fatigue, PTSD and functional neurological disorders, or more severe and enduring mental illness including psychotic disorders, complex trauma and personality disorders.
This is a static post, working predominantly in Community settings, covering the whole of the Perth & Kinross geographical area, as well as in ward settings with Inpatients, and a small number of Outpatients.
We adopt a person-centred approach to promote rehabilitation and recovery, enabling individuals to achieve the best possible outcomes through collaboration with the individual, multidisciplinary team members and family/carer involvement
We have close links with our colleagues in the wider P&K Physiotherapy Service and provide excellent opportunities for formal and informal supervision, actively support individual development through regular appraisal and CPD, and promote innovative practice and service development. We also have strong links with Universities providing student placements primarily from Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Applicants must be registered with HCPC.
Hours of work: 30 (inclusive of reduced working week hours to date).
Base: Murray Royal Hospital, with travel across the Perth & Kinross area.
Informal enquiries: Morag Greenwood, Team Lead on 01738 562381 or morag.greenwood@nhs.scot
