We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate Physiotherapist to join the Surgical Division at the Northern General Hospital.
The Surgery Division delivers therapy to a number of specialist areas including:
General Critical Care (Level 2 and 3) receiving Major Trauma
General Surgery including Specialist Services for Vascular, Colorectal, Upper Gastro-Intestinal and the Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary Unit
Cardiology
Cardiothoracics
Respiratory Medicine
Adult Cystic Fibrosis
Respiratory Outpatients
This post currently rotates annually between our Surgery wards and General Critical Care.
As part of our commitment to delivering the best care to our patients and supporting and developing our staff, we are starting a journey to review the rotations within these areas.
As a Band 6 within the Division, you will have the opportunity to be part of this review of the structure and skill mix which, in consultation with the staff, may lead to change within the rotations.
As a Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist you will continue to build on your clinical knowledge and skills but will also have opportunity to develop across all pillars of practice. In an environment that facilitates team and collaborative working you will progress within the following areas:
Leadership - through supporting the day-to-day management of the area, supervising, supporting and developing people, both within the team and students and improving your knowledge of the wider STH/NHS
Quality improvement - through participation in service improvement and development projects within ATS and the ward teams.
Education - through the provision of high-quality education both to members of Acute Therapy Services and the multi-disciplinary teams.

Are you a Physiotherapist with?
Post graduate experience sufficient to acquire knowledge and skills in Physiotherapy practice in acute respiratory conditions and rehabilitation and the ability to manage a complex caseload in these areas
Clinical ability to deliver on-call and weekend acute respiratory care (Training can be provided)
Effective interpersonal, communication and team working skills
Implementation of PROUD values in daily practice
