Job Description
AECOM are seeking a Specialist – Project Controls who will be responsible for executing day-to-day project control activities across a portfolio of small to medium-sized projects. This role involves setting up and maintaining project control systems, analysing performance data, managing scope and change control, and supporting financial and schedule reporting. The Specialist plays a key role in ensuring project transparency, accuracy, and alignment with organizational standards.

Qualifications

  • Typically, a minimum of 2-8 years of experience.
  • Bachelor or Master of Science or Engineering or relevant Degree from an accredited University
  • Certified training in project controls systems
Responsibilities
  • Works closely with the Project Management team and interfaces with various disciplines.
  • Develops the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and baseline budgets, in coordination with the Project Manager.
  • Collects progress data and performs Earned Value Analysis.
  • Collects actual costs and analyzes performance against baseline budgets.
  • Prepares weekly progress and performance tracking reports.
  • Investigates variances from the baseline and analyzes performance trends.
  • Establishes project cost projections based on deployments provided by involved disciplines.
  • Supports the Project Manager with preparation of Intercompany Agreements.
  • Supports the Project Manager with preparation of internal forms in relation to change management processes in place.
  • Provides project performance data for project audit reviews purposes.
  • Maintains records of the project financial files in line with the company’s established templates.
  • Pro-actively identifies and reports financial risks and opportunities.
  • Works with the company financial and cornerstone systems and processes
  • Applies financial terminology, measures, financial data analysis concepts and principles in assignments.
  • Recognizes processes/project actions that may lead to project financial impact.
  • Familiar with earned value, scope control and change management concepts, principles and methodologies.
  • Exposed to basic scheduling and cost baseline fundamentals, concepts and principles.
  • Understands change management and processes.
  • Supports project reporting process as required.
