Description

Reporting to the CEO, Islamic Relief South Africa seeks a dynamic and experienced Specialist Project Manager to lead the successful rollout of its ERP system. This role requires a results-oriented individual with strong leadership and project execution capabilities. The successful candidate will coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, manage project timelines, drive organizational readiness for go-live, and champion the cultural and operational changes needed to support long-term success. The incumbent will take full ownership of the project from initiation through post-go-live stabilization and will operate with a high degree of autonomy and minimal supervision, while maintaining close engagement with the Head of Finance & Support Services and Core Team to ensure alignment, oversight, and proactive support for project execution and escalation as necessary.
· Lead the full ERP project lifecycle, ensuring delivery against agreed scope, budget, and timeline using best practice project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile).
· Coordinate project execution across internal departments, Islamic Relief Worldwide teams, and external consultants to ensure alignment and seamless collaboration.
· Maintain, monitor, and regularly update the overall ERP rollout plan to align activities with strategic organizational objectives.
· Prepare and deliver structured project status updates and reports to senior leadership and steering committees, highlighting milestones, risks, dependencies, and decisions required.
· Monitor and drive organizational readiness for go-live, ensuring a smooth transition from legacy systems to the new ERP platform.
· Act as a proactive change agent—managing communication, addressing resistance, and ensuring stakeholder engagement across all levels of the organization.
· Manage resources, budget allocations, and time commitments to enable successful project outcomes.
· Proactively identify and resolve cross-functional bottlenecks or issues that may delay progress.
· Support stabilization and optimization efforts following the ERP system go-live, ensuring smooth transition to full operational use.
· Chair structured weekly project meetings to promote accountability, visibility, and sustained momentum across all workstreams.
· Oversee the development and maintenance of comprehensive project documentation and governance frameworks, supporting audit-readiness and future organizational learning.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Minimum 5–7 years of proven experience managing large-scale ERP implementations or enterprise-wide transformation projects.
· Professional certification in project management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile) is highly desirable.
· Exceptional stakeholder management, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities.
· Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and influence senior-level stakeholders within complex organizational structures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
