The Provincial Palliative Care Program is an Ontario Health provincial clinical program within the Primary and Community Based Care Portfolio, Division of Integrated Care. Grounded in ongoing engagement, the Provincial Palliative Care Program collaborates with delivery partners to achieve the Ministry of Health’s established strategic priorities for Palliative Care.
The program develops clinical guidance, informs, and/or develops policy related to Palliative Care, and provides subject matter expertise within Ontario Health, for the government of Ontario, and health system partners. Additionally, the program is responsible for health system planning and measurement for Palliative Care, supports governance bodies, working groups, and expert panels to inform its work, and executes the Ontario Palliative Care Network (OPCN) mandate and priorities in alignment with Ontario Health’s role.
The Specialist contributes to project planning and execution by conducting planning, research and analysis activities. They will identify and leverage best practice that supports implementation of provincial direction, related quality improvement activities. This includes supporting opportunities to spread and scale existing work and resources developed by Ontario Health.
