To provide an effective and comprehensive school nursing service to a defined population that meets the needs of the local community in line with the Health Child Programme.
To provide and manage a defined caseload, using a public health approach to provide and maintain a high quality service that promotes the physical and mental health of the children and young people who are under the identified provisions of the role: Youth Justice Service, Pupil Referral Units, Electively Home Educated, and NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training).
To provide health screening/surveillance, health promotion and to support the health needs of any young people within the caseload as well as participating in the safeguarding process.
Identify health needs of the very vulnerable children and young people that attend or are under :
Youth Justice Service
Pupil Referral Units
Children excluded from school where appropriate
Home schooled where parental permission is given
Children who are NEET
