Qualifications POSITION SUMMARY Provides claim incident documentation support to the Risk Management team by gathering, processing, maintaining and reporting information related to workplace accidents involving Goodwill team members, the public and property damage. Supports the efforts of the safety team with return to work programs and claim frequency analysis. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Act as liaison between Risk Management unit, insurance companies and brokers, Human Resources, management team members, and injured parties in the management of claims. Work with each to reach a mutually agreeable resolution following incidents and accidents resulting in injury and/or property damage. Workers Compensation: Obtain required paperwork and submits claims data to the insurance company. Authorize medical treatments, coordinate with Human Resources to monitor days lost from work. Notify unit manager of incidents requiring further investigation and/or situations outside of normal procedures or authority level. Return to Work Program: Coordinate between treating physicians, Human Resources, and location management to insure quick and successful integration of injured workers back into the work place. Property Claims: Obtain required paperwork and submits claims data to the insurance company. Identify appropriate vendors for repairs and arranges repair appointments. Coordinates with local management for on-site vendor repairs. Create and maintain files for accident/incidents, alarm permits, fire inspections, and sprinkler system inspections. Maintain records of recordable OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) accidents; create and distribute reports to each agency location annually. Coordinate the company FMCSA – DOT random drug test program by ensuring selected team members are notified of their selection and arrive timely at collection facilities. Maintain required documentation of the company random drug test program to satisfy Department of Transportation requirements. Code bills and invoices for payment and enter into Paramount accounts payable system for processing. Responsible for providing excellent customer service by greeting, assisting, and responding to questions and/or concerns in a positive, professional, and friendly manner. To meet business needs additional functions may be assigned as necessary. REQUIREMENTS Associates Degree in business administration, safety or related field required; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. 2 – 3 years proven experience working with worker compensation claims, return to work programs and leaves of absence coordination required. Working knowledge of Texas Worker Compensation regulations and insurance preferred. Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA (Health Information Portability & Accountability Act) preferred. Computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, Outlook, database management. Basic clerical skills to include data entry, report preparation, file maintenance, scheduling appointments, and preparing invoices/bills for payment. Strong interpersonal communication, organization, and follow-up skills.
