Professional / Clinical 1. Provide a full range of Health Education and social care advice to vulnerable women in all maternity settings. 2. Assess the full range of care needs and develops, implements and evaluates Programmes of care in the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period for young women and their babies.
3. Liaise regularly and effectively with teams supporting vulnerable pregnant women and families including Childrens Social care. 4. Attend all relevant case conferences, professionals and core group meetings and update the maternity system with relevant plans of care for the young person concerned.
5. To provide support and advice to staff working with vulnerable pregnant women and families where there is an escalation in concern regarding safeguarding issues. 6. Attend Board meetings relevant to Safeguarding and Perinatal Mental health 7.
Work as part of the Maternity Safeguarding Team and support the team in safeguarding duties where required, for example covering specialist ante natal clinics when needed. 8. Act as a mentor for less experienced midwives and other staff / students providing leadership within the practice environment. 9.
Provide midwives with regular safeguarding supervision. 10. Work autonomously within guidelines and sphere of professional practice. 11.
Promote commitment to the Trust whilst working towards the five promises. 12. Be a part of the team who run clinics providing care to women with perinatal mental health concerns and alcohol and drug misuse. Please see attached JD for full details and person specifications.
