Description:
We are seeking an experienced, innovative and passionate SLT to join the Early Years SLT team working with a range of children with Speech Language and Communication (SLC) needs including those with those with social communication differences within the Inner London boroughs.
The post holder will work in partnership with parents/carers, other members of the multi-disciplinary team, Family Hubs and nurseries/schools to deliver a high-quality service to children with a range of SLC needs. They will deliver a high-quality service, consisting of assessment and intervention for a complex caseload and develop a specialism in an identified clinical area (such as children with developmental language disorder, speech disorder, ASD). Commitment to reflective learning and strong team work skills are essential.

- To have specialist knowledge in the assessment, diagnosis and interventions for preschool children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) including administering comprehensive formal and informal assessments, making differential diagnoses based on assessment findings and developing and delivering evidence-based intervention programmes
- To monitor and review the progress of children on the caseload and facilitate the development or modification of packages of care/targets as appropriate using evaluation/outcome measurement tools.
- To be accountable for own professional actions and recognise own professional boundaries, seeking advice from senior colleagues as appropriate
- To have well developed specialist skills in a specialist area of SLCN within the broad range of speech, language and communication needs encountered within the caseload of preschool aged children
- To provide supervision and peer review support to less experienced colleagues, Speech & Language Therapy assistants and Speech & Language Therapy students, and if required, Band 5 Speech & Language Therapists.
