Clinical practice To independently provide specialist SLT assessment, diagnosis, intervention and advice to patients within the ENT/Head and Neck Ca pathways, as well as services to families, support staff and professionals To assist senior ENT SLT colleagues with provision of diagnostic assessments (endoscopic swallow clinics; Videofluoroscopy x-ray swallow clinics) Make differential diagnosis using complex information gathered from formal and informal assessments, medical notes and other agencies/professionals. Using this information to develop, implement and provide specialist packages of care and treatment, to meet the needs of the client group and evaluate outcomes Contributes to the development, implementation of and monitoring of standards for the clinical specialism. To participate in departmental research within this clinical area To ensure service delivery in specialist area is underpinned by available research evidence. Contribute to others research by providing data as required.
