Are you a passionate and experienced Speech & Language Therapist ready to take the next step in your career? Would you like to work in a friendly, innovative, and supportive environment where your expertise makes a real difference to people’s lives?
We are currently seeking a Specialist Speech & Language Therapist to join our dynamic Adult SLT Team, working across Royal Bolton Hospital and Lever Chambers Centre for Health. This is an exciting opportunity to work as an autonomous practitioner, providing high-quality, specialist assessment and therapy for adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
You will play a key role in delivering and developing specialist services for adults with neurological speech, language, and swallowing difficulties in both inpatient and community settings.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a self-motivated and compassionate therapist who:

  • Is HCPC registered with a recognised degree in Speech & Language Therapy.
  • Has significant postgraduate experience, particularly with adults with acquired neurological conditions.
  • Demonstrates confidence in dysphagia assessment and management, including Videofluoroscopy.
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex information sensitively to patients, carers, and professionals.
  • Thrives working both autonomously and as part of a team within a busy and diverse clinical setting.
  • Has experience supporting or supervising junior colleagues or students.
  • Is enthusiastic about service development, audit, and evidence-based practice.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £20.15 per hour
Expected hours: 22.5 per week

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person
Reference ID: 8248

Responsibilities

As a valued member of our team, you will:

  • Manage a specialist clinical caseload of adults with complex communication and dysphagia needs.
  • Conduct detailed assessments using a wide range of diagnostic tools and formulate individualised, evidence-based care plans.
  • Deliver individual and group therapy programmes, using innovative strategies to maximise communication and swallow safety.
  • Provide input to multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and nutritional ward rounds.
  • Participate in and lead Videofluoroscopy clinics, working collaboratively with radiology and dietetics.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in line with professional and Trust standards.
  • Offer clinical supervision, mentorship and second opinions to junior SLTs and SLT assistants.
  • Support the training of undergraduate SLT students and contribute to student placements from other health professions.

You’ll be an integral part of a multidisciplinary environment where we value collaboration, compassion, and creativity, working in partnership with clients, families, carers, and wider health and social care teams.
