Role: Specialist Support Worker
Location: Twigworth, Gloucester
Hours: Up to 45 hours days
Pay: £14.65 per hour.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:

Due to the nature of this role, a UK Full Clean driving license with access to a vehicle with business insurance (or willingness to obtain) is essential. You may also be required to drive the individual’s vehicle if necessary.
DBS Check: This role is subject to a satisfactory DBS check, which will be provided by Prosperity Care & Wellbeing.

We are looking for highly experienced Support Workers who have experience working with challenging behaviours to join our award-winning team.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have experience with Complex Care and Challenging Behaviours.
  • PBS (Positive Behaviour Support) training is highly desirable. Additional relevant training in behaviour management, first aid, and safeguarding is also an asset.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • A proactive approach to learning and professional development, particularly around PBS and person-centred care.
  • You must have a compassionate, caring, positive personality.
  • Commitment to reducing restrictive practices.
  • Able to demonstrate resilience and commitment to the role.
  • A Full UK Driving Licence Needed.

Responsibilities

PLEASE NOTE THAT AS PART OF THIS ROLE, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO ATTEND TRAINING IN A HOSPITAL SETTING IN STROUD. TRAINING WILL BE PAID AT OUR STANDARD RATE OF £12.56 PER HOUR.

Shift Pattern: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

YOUR ROLE:

As a Support Worker, you will support a young gentleman with severe learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), epilepsy, and challenging behaviours by assisting him with engaging in activities such as playing with toys, using sensory toys, colouring, riding his bike, and accompanying him on family visits to his parent’s house. You will also help manage behaviours such as aggression, self-injury, and communication difficulties while providing a safe, engaging, and supportive environment that promotes his well-being and independence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Assist with daily living activities, which may include personal care, meal preparation, financial support and medication management.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the individual by following care plans and risk assessments.
  • Promote independence and encourage the individual to make choices about their care and lifestyle
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with the support team and family members.
