Job Title: Specialist Teacher (Spanish) Supervisor Job Title: Principal Employment Status: Full-time FLSA Status: Salary     The management services offered to our family of charter schools, allows us to collectively become a change agent and national leader in urban education as evidenced by student awareness of self, high academic achievement, positive school culture and community transformation wherever we serve.     JOB GOAL: The Specialist Teacher (K-8) is responsible for supervising, educating, and supporting students to help them accomplish learning benchmarks. The Specialty Teacher will plan lessons to target specific skills and concepts, manage classroom behavior and keep students engaged in the lessons.   RESPONSIBILITIES: * Implement Universal’s curriculum and instructional strategies andutilizeclassroom routines and procedures with consistency. * Develop rigorous lesson plans, homeworkassignmentsand assessments. * Work closely with school leaders to analyze student assessment data and use data to inform instruction. * Collaborate in grade level teams to discuss student work, share best practices, and ensure student mastery of standards. * Form andmaintainrelationships with students’ families, including phone calls and conferences. * Participate inon-goingprofessional development in the spirit of continuous improvement. * Perform related work asrequired. REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: Certification: Valid PA Certification in area of specialty  Education: Bachelor’s degree  Preferred Experience: * Experience as a teacher in an urban environment. * Acceptable criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status. * Bring a spirit of enthusiasm, energy, and multi-cultural awareness. * Possess strong written and oral communication skills. * Demonstrateabilityto apply data analysis, new strategies, and evaluation techniques. * Understand and communicate current trends and best practices in teaching.  * Understand all applicable laws, regulations, and rules. * Possess excellent interpersonal skills in the areas of collaboration, team participation, creative problem-solving, conflict resolution, group planning, and decision-making processes. * Demonstrate the ability to deal with people beyond giving andreceiving ofinstructions. * Be student focused. * Be proficient in computer applications. Encourageuseof technology in the delivery of instruction. * Understand the challenges that faculty and students face in using technology. * Prioritize work to meet schedules and timelines.
