PERMANENT, PART TIME 15 HOURS PER WEEK.
We are looking for enthusiastic Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our Service.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a well-established service with a commitment to quality improvement. This post involves providing support to children and young people who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting and producing resources, using technology and supporting the use of equipment such as assistive listening devices.
STA work with teachers of the deaf to provide targeted interventions in college, school, nursery or the home. These interventions will include language development, encouraging the use of equipment and social and emotional support.
This is a peripatetic post covering 4 local authorities (Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Bath & NE Somerset). You will need to be able to communicate effectively with a variety of professionals, parents and children and have a good level of experience of working with children and who have SEN and direct experience working with children. We welcome applicants with lived experience in the use of assistive listening devices, notetakers or educational support. Travelling to and between different settings is required.
