Description:

The opportunity
Are you an experienced IT Technician looking for new challenges in a creative environment? Are you interested in a role which combines IT support work with project management and challenging side projects to expand your knowledge and career potential?
We have created a new role at the Creative Computing Institute (CCI) at UAL for an IT Projects technician that puts you in charge of your planning, workload, and scheduling whilst offering an exciting opportunity for career development.
As a Specialist Technician (IT Projects) you will provide IT support for teaching & learning activities, manage the delivery of cyclical, longer term IT projects, and oversee the planning and development of new computing facilities for CCI.
About you
You are an experienced, motivated, and skilled individual with a passion for IT and achieving excellent outcomes in your work. Able to work proactively, you will be keen to apply your expertise to a range of IT scenarios.
Excited by the chance to develop your own skill set in an educational environment, you will be comfortable working closely with experienced technical teams and discussing complex technical issues with senior IT staff to plan and deliver new computing facilities.
For classroom IT support you will have experience of macOS / Windows support, endpoint management (e.g. Intune, JAMF), and experience of overseeing the delivery of cyclical IT projects such as hardware refresh and software deployment.
You will also have experience of working closely with IT teams to manage the delivery and development of projects and services such as Linux device management, Web hosting (e.g. Digital Ocean), and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (e.g. Apporto).
As you grow into the role you will be looking forward to having the opportunity to advise on and guide the future direction of IT provision within the institute.
