THE OPPORTUNITY

  • Undertake numerical analyses using first-principles methods to address our clients’ most difficult challenges
  • Conduct studies to understand the risk posed by natural hazards and the physical threat of climate change
  • Perform and report wind engineering studies to determine structural wind loads, pedestrian comfort, and microclimate characteristics
  • Perform and report linear and non-linear, static and dynamic structural finite element analysis, principally for structural and geo-engineering applications (e.g. earthquake, wind, and vibration analysis)
  • Collaborate with other structural engineers, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, and risk consultants on innovative buildings and infrastructure projects
  • Work on defined tasks under the close supervision of an engineer

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

  • Currently entering the final year of a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or similar related field
  • Fundamental knowledge of structural mechanics, fluid mechanics, dynamics, CFD, and/or risk modeling, as appropriate
  • Basic understanding of computer programming and/or coding experience
  • Curiosity about the built environment
  • Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future
