Hillgrove is located 23km east of Armidale which is considered a well-serviced regional city surrounded by natural beauty. It is centrally located between Brisbane and Sydney and is only a short drive to the popular Coffs Coast.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering.
  • Completed training in the use of Orica Icon two wireless blasting systems, highly desirable.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Larvotto Resources is entering exciting times during ramp up of the Hillgrove Antimony and Gold project and we now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Specialist, Underground Mining Engineer to join our onsite Underground Mining team. To be considered you would need have previous experience in electronic blasting in underground mining, to deliver drill and blast plans that meet safety, cost and productivity targets.
This role follows 5 days on, 2 days off roster, 4 days on, 3 days off roster (5:2) (4:3), working 10-hour shifts per day.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and deliver daily and weekly drill/blast plans that meet safety, cost & productivity targets, & site requirements.
  • Identify and implement improvements in blasting outcomes, drilling efficiency and compliance with mine plans.
  • Conduct QA/QC checks to monitor production activities and verify blast performance against plan.
  • Oversee drill consumables and upcoming design requirements.
  • Foster a strong safety culture while supporting morale & effectiveness of the mining production & maintenance teams.
  • Provide timely, high-quality, and cost-effective technical engineering services to ensure production targets are achieved or exceeded.
  • Deliver reports, handovers & administrative functions in a timely and effective manner.
  • Maintain strong relationships and clear communication with key stakeholders including site personnel, corporate teams, regulators, suppliers and other industry partners.
