Description
A prestigious Government Hospital in the UAE is seeking a highly skilled Specialist Visceral Surgeon (American Board Certified) to provide specialized surgical care for diseases affecting the abdominal organs and gastrointestinal tract. The successful candidate will diagnose, evaluate, and manage patients requiring elective and emergency visceral surgical procedures while delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care in accordance with international best practices and UAE healthcare regulations. The Specialist will work within a multidisciplinary team comprising gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, intensivists, and allied healthcare professionals to ensure optimal clinical outcomes. Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with diseases affecting the gastrointestinal tract and abdominal organs. Perform elective and emergency visceral surgical procedures, including both open and minimally invasive techniques. Manage conditions involving the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, rectum, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, and abdominal wall. Perform laparoscopic and advanced minimally invasive surgeries whenever clinically indicated. Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments and formulate individualized surgical treatment plans. Provide high-quality post-operative care, including monitoring recovery and managing complications. Interpret laboratory investigations, imaging studies, and endoscopic findings to support surgical decision-making. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in complex gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary cases. Participate in trauma and emergency surgery services as required. Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical risks, and expected outcomes. Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records in accordance with hospital policies. Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations, infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, and clinical governance requirements. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, morbidity and mortality conferences, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives. Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents, interns, and surgical staff where applicable. Participate in the departmental on-call rotation.
