JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education Required :

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field (metallurgies, quality, aeronautical) ;
  • 5 years of experience in the manufacturing and maintenance of aeronautics components ;
  • 3 years of experience related to special processes ;
  • Experience in conducting audits NADCAP, AS9100, Transport Canada.

Technical Skills :

  • Demonstrates knowledge in welding, plasma coating, chemical treatments and non-destructive testing ;
  • Demonstrates knowledge in machining and assembly techniques ;
  • Ability to interface with internal/external clients/certifying body ;
  • Mastery of special audit techniques ;
  • Knowledge of the AS9100 (a plus).

Personal Skills :

  • Autonomous in the interpretation of customer technical specifications ;
  • Be factual, precise, concise and rigorous in the preparation of technical instructions and reports ;
  • Proven leader in his projects and previous experiences ;
  • Strong interpersonal skills ;
  • Ability to work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines ;
  • French and English language, advanced level (written and oral) ;

Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the job holder is responsible for the application of methods and compliance with the requirements of aeronautics experts with regard to the special processes implemented within the group.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop new special processes :
  • Analyse customer specifications for new projects ;
  • Define the need for qualification of new special processes ;
  • Prepare methods of implementation (tools, equipment, range, etc.) ;
  • Write technical instructions and associated training materials ;
  1. Support qualification processes and machine shop trials.
  • Monitor the special processes of serial production :
  1. Plan and execute training and requalification of qualified personnel ;
  2. Monitor the implementation of special processes through technical audits ;
  3. Prepare and perform special processes monitoring tests ;
  4. Perform a technical watch of the customer’s specifications ;
  5. Manage and resolve non-conformities discovered that relate to special processes ;

  6. Archive the results and communicate to clients the reports when required.

  • Help advance quality practices and special processes techniques for: welding (fusion and resistance), plasma coating, paint, NDT(LPI) and chemical cleaning ;
  • Conduct tasks in accordance with the vision, doctrine and code of ethics of the company ;
  • Apply and comply with safety rules at all times ;
  • Apply and comply with the rules of our policy and quality system ;
  • Any other related tasks.

*Note that the position may be based in Blainville or Montreal, with travel to all sites depending on priorities and projects.
