Doctors Direct have an exciting opportunity for a Speciality Doctor in Substance Misuse to work with us at our South London & Maudsley NHS trust

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO:

• Providing day-to-day front-line clinical services
• Assessment of drug and alcohol use and dependence and co-morbid psychiatric and physical health problems
• Initiate treatment and sign-controlled drug prescriptions.
• Psychiatric assessment, treatment, reviews and referrals
• Community alcohol detoxification and substitute opioid prescribing (detoxification and harm minimisation approaches)
• Initial medical assessments, treatment reviews, dose reviews
• On-site or satellite clinics in hostels/ home visits/hospitals
• Liaison with local treatment services and partners
• Supporting the building of pathways between mental health teams and the physical health teams
• Attending team meetings
• Clinical supervision of non-medic prescribers, other clinical staff and medical students
• Undertake clinical audit and quality improvement

• Payment method: PAYE we do NOT facilitate payment through LTD/umbrella companies
