As an Estimator trice specialized in PMEI within Pomerleau’s Civil & Infrastructures division, you will work in the field of hydraulic infrastructure projects, and in partnership with our various divisions. You’ll support the growth of new projects as well as those involving the rehabilitation of obsolete infrastructure, and challenge industry standards with your expertise and knowledge of the trade. Working on construction projects of various sizes, you’ll be at the heart of our preconstruction team, producing winning proposals and ensuring the success of our projects.

What you will do :

  • Perform material and labor quantity estimates for major jobs;
  • Prepare summary quantities based on plans and specifications, classified according to standard sections and trades;
  • Participate in the selection of concepts, types of equipment and suppliers;
  • Attend coordination meetings, site visits, and assess the difficulty of projects to be estimated;
  • Research prices of materials or subcontractors after analysis of tender documents;
  • Verify compliance of amounts received from suppliers and subcontractors with bid documents;
  • Participate in updating the database of subcontractors and suppliers, and propose alternatives to reduce construction costs.

This role could be for you if you have :

  • Degree in construction engineering or related field;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Good technical knowledge of process, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation engineering;
  • Good technical knowledge of construction;
  • Strong skills in reading plans and specifications;
  • Versatility and excellent analytical skills;
  • Good oral and written communication skills;
  • Willingness to collaborate on projects in various fields of expertise.
