Isola, an industry leader in global materials sciences whose mission is to improve life by enabling innovation in electronic products, is hiring a 1st Shift Specialty Copper Operator at our Ridgeway, SC facility. Assigned Schedule: 5:00am-1:30pm Monday - Friday (Extended shift and weekend overtime work required) Skill Level: C Compensation:$20.25 per hour THE ROLE The Copper Operator is responsible for operating the machine that prepares copper for the pressing processes. This role also tracks copper foil inventory electronically. TOP RESPONSIBILITIES: Read and verify press plan is complete and clear. Review copper foil feeders are stocked with correct copper type, size and weight per the press plan. Run current inventory list to locate copper foils in stock for usage. Using a forklift, pull copper foils from stock using the FIFO method. Inspect copper foil for usability. If copper is defective, place on hold per quality procedure. Stage and load copper on the machine. Perform transactions in computer to change the location of the copper foil from stock to Specialty copper location. Log copper usage and scrap in batch sheets. Between press loads, perform computer transactions to issue/produce copper usage. Participate in weekly preventive maintenance. Participate in inventory cycle counts. Work with engineering and quality technicians as needed. Cross train in other areas. Assist other operators to ensure timely shipment of product. Ensure full compliance with ISO and manufacturing visual and written procedures. Maintain a clean work area in accordance with established 5S criteria. Use Lean/Six Sigma Methodologies to improve the process. All employees will be required to participate in training and continuous improvement events. Perform other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS In this role you maybe be required to stand up to 10 hours per shift and with frequent bending, reaching, and grasping. You will also need to lift, pull or push up to 50 pounds.
