We are inviting applications for a Speciality Doctor post working in the Ipswich and Central East Suffolk YAMHS. This job advert is to cover the maternity leave period commencing from September. This post is based in the community, there are no inpatient responsibilities. The service covers the east area of the county of Suffolk, which includes area of particular social deprivation with considerable psychosocial related difficulties. The service caters to residents of Suffolk which has a population of approximately 650,000.
The postholder, together with other members of the multidisciplinary team will be expected to assess new referrals and to maintain a treatment caseload of young people aged 18 to 25 years old with complex mental health difficulties, monitoring use of medication and other treatments as appropriate. The role would include attendance at weekly team meetings and reviews, as well as providing appropriate clinical support and supervision to non-medical staff within the team. The postholder will carry his/her own caseload of acceptable number of cases. The post holder is not expected to work outside of the allocated time in their job plans. We are looking for a speciality doctor of SAS grade with a few years of an experience of working with 18+ age group.
