SUMMARY Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner (MNA) position supporting our Orthopedics department. The Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively on a team to provide direct clinical care within an ambulatory orthopedics practice. Clinical care includes same day urgent care, a range of wellness visits, chronic disease management and acute care. We offer superior staffing resources and a fully integrated EMR system. EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Graduate of nationally accredited, Masters-level Physician Assistant program. Possesses/eligible for national certification as a Physician Assistant. Possesses/eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Possession and maintenance of or eligibility for DEA and Mass DPH Controlled Substances Registration. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty. Graduate of a State-approved school of Nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Master of Science degree and Nurse Practitioner certification in an area of specialty required. Possess a current license to practice as a professional nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and authorization to practice in the expanded role. Possession and maintenance of or eligibility for DEA and Mass DPH Controlled Substances Registration. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty. EXPERIENCE Previous experience as a Physician Assistant in primary care preferred. Experience with an electronic medical records system, EPIC experienced preferred. SKILLS Must exhibit strong critical thinking, problem solving, interpersonal and good patient interviewing skills. Highly motivated and self-directed. Ability to interpret clinical information, assess the implication of treatment and develop and implement a plan of care. Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in a rapidly changing environment with multiple demands. Up to date with current standard of nursing care in Specialty. Demonstrated excellence in practice, documentation and utilization. Maintain high patient satisfaction. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Strong computer skills.
