Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks Duties include oversight of second shift non-technical laboratory operations in Specimen Processing. The Supervisor will work to train employees in departmental processes and procedures, ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures. Supervised staff for this role, aliquot specimen samples, and perform supportive tasks for technical laboratory operations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Ensuring the smooth flow of production on 2nd shift Specimen Processing. Reviewing/maintaining close and effective cross-area and cross-shift communications with the Quality Manager, Receiving Team Leads, additional Receiving Supervisor, Laboratory Supervisors and Managers of technical laboratory operations. Personnel management (hiring, training, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions when needed). Managing laboratory supplies and reagents pertinent to the area and coordinating module needs with Purchasing. Requirements High School diploma Three or more years of work experience One or more years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint Demonstrated skills in: Leadership, effective communication, time management, decision-making and problem solving. Successful candidate must be able to work independently and must be detailed-oriented, dependable and show initiative. Lab positions involve handling of biohazardous materials and dangerous chemicals.
